Meet Jamie Sonneberger

Jamie Sonneberger lives in the community with his wife and two boys who attend Anchor Bay High School. He believes public service begins with understanding the everyday lives of the people you represent. His connection to local schools, families, and community organizations has shaped his commitment to strong public schools, steady leadership, and a community-first approach to decision-making.

Jamie’s experience working alongside students, educators, and community members has reinforced his belief that effective leadership starts with listening, accountability, and thoughtful, practical solutions. He approaches public service with care, transparency, and a focus on doing the work the right way.

A lifelong Michigander, Jamie earned his BA from the University of Michigan-Flint. He is a dedicated fan of the Detroit Tigers and a former member of the Michigan State University Marching Band, where he learned the value of teamwork, discipline, and showing up prepared.

At home, Jamie and his family share their home with two cats, a dog, and the occasional foster animal.
